DAVID M. MAYFIELD received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1962 at which time he was commissioned an Officer in the U.S. Navy. He served in the submarine force until 1967 when he left active duty to enter law school. He continued to serve in the Naval Reserve, retiring with the rank of Captain in 1984.

Mr. Mayfield is one of the founding partners of this firm, which was formed in January 1991. He had been an associate and partner in another law firm for twenty years. He is engaged almost exclusively in the defense of litigation matters for insurance carriers, self-insured entities and professionals, with primary focus on professional negligence and non-profit & charitable organizations. He has spoken to medical and dental groups regarding risk management and ways to avoid litigation, as well as the successful defense of lawsuits.

Mr. Mayfield is a member of the New Jersey State and Camden County Bar Associations, New Jersey Defense Association and the Defense Research Institute. He is also a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel.
